The global goal of Smart-Up is to strengthen young companies (<5 years) in the Austrian/Hungarian border region through support and coaching and to improve their innovation performance and to create a cross-border economic community to anchor long-term innovative and economic cooperation. The project activities create active cooperation between young companies and start-ups in both countries.

As part of the project, individuals (through mentoring and coaching) and groups (workshops, company visits) are advised. The same method for evaluating innovation performance is used in both countries, which leads to comparability of the individual values. The business partners can even make long-term use of the methods used in the joint evaluation of the selected ideas during the joint training sessions and the establishment of mixed pilot teams.
