Privacy Statement

JOINT SURVEYS OF FH CAMPUS 02 & UNIVERSITY KRAGUJEVAC

Protecting your data is of utmost importance to us. Our privacy statements for different groups of data subjects offer a brief overview of the personal data we collect and what it is used for.

We, CAMPUS 02 Fachhochschule der Wirtschaft GmbH (referred as FH CAMPUS 02), Körblergasse 126, 8010 Graz, conduct online surveys together with University of Kragujevac , Faculty of Technical Sciences Čačak (referred as University Kragujevac), Svetog Save 65, 32000 Čačak, Serbia, as part of our research operations. In the course of these joint surveys, data processing takes place that is the joint responsibility (Art. 26 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)) of FH CAMPUS 02 and University Kragujevac.

The responsible contact persons at FH CAMPUS 02 and University of Kragujevac have created the surveys jointly, collect survey data together by sending the link to the online surveys to the respective university community and evaluate them together. Scientific articles will then be published on the findings. The purpose of the joint data processing is to gain knowledge from the surveys and to process this knowledge in scientific articles as part of academic research. In addition, the findings and the resulting measures contribute to quality assurance and enhancement of teaching and studies.

In principle, no personal data is collected from you in these online surveys, but questions about habits and attitudes may be asked and (socio)demographic information (e.g. age category, gender, highest academic degree) may be requested. It is not necessary to provide your name or to register for online surveys in order to participate, which is why it is generally not possible to draw conclusions about individuals or to identify you or other participants in the survey. Since the surveys also contain free text fields as answer options, it cannot be ruled out with certainty that a personal reference can be established through the overall context of the answers or the specific entries of the survey participants. As part of the evaluation, any direct personal reference that may have been established is removed if possible.

The invitation to participate in the survey and the data processing that takes place in the course of the surveys is carried out in the context of scientific research on the basis of legitimate interest in accordance with Art 6 para 1 lit f GDPR in conjunction with Art 89 para 1 GDPR and § 2f para 5 Research Organization Act (“Forschungsorganisationsgesetz”, FOG) as well as on the basis of the fulfilment of the legally assigned tasks or principles to be observed (e.g. § 3 and § 2 (3) Universities of Applied Sciences Act (“Fachhochschulgesetz”, FHG)). Participation in the surveys is voluntary. You will not suffer any disadvantages if you refuse or cancel the surveys. Data processing within the scope of the surveys can therefore also be based on the consent (implied) given by clicking on the survey link and sending the answers.

A justified objection with regard to the legitimate interest is only possible to a limited extent, as the processing of the survey data is usually carried out without information that enables direct identification (without additional knowledge).

In principle, the aim is not to collect any personal data or, if possible, to remove any direct personal reference during the evaluation. In principle, raw data is deleted at the latest after 10 years in accordance with § 2f para 3 Nr. 1 FOG.

Your personal data will be treated confidentially by us and will only be processed by responsible employees of FH CAMPUS 02 and University Kragujevac.

In order to carry out this joint data processing, FH CAMPUS 02 gave both contact persons at the respective universities access to the survey software (see below), which is hosted in the EU/EEA area. The results of the surveys can be exported by both contact persons in order to evaluate the surveys. This means that the data is analyzed both in Austria and in Serbia. As Serbia is a third country, data transfer is only permitted if the conditions of Art. 44 ff GDPR are met. There is currently no adequacy decision by the European Commission (however, the Serbian Data Protection Act has been adapted to the GDPR). If there is no adequacy decision, personal data may only be transferred to a third country if appropriate safeguards have been provided and if enforceable rights and effective legal remedies are available to the data subjects. These appropriate safeguards exist here in the standard contractual clauses concluded between FH CAMPUS 02 and University Kraguejevac, on the basis of which the data transfer is legitimized. You can request a copy of these standard contractual clauses at any time at datenschutz@campus02.at .

Processors engaged by us may process data for us to fulfill the purposes described if they offer sufficient guarantees for the security of the data. For example, data may be viewed and processed by external IT service providers in the event of support. To conduct online surveys, we use the “Unipark” survey service provided by the processor Questback. Further information on data processing can be found in Questback’s privacy policy (https://www.questback.com/trust-center/).

Your answers/the survey results will be forwarded exclusively in aggregated and anonymized or pseudonymized form in scientific articles to publishers. This data will not be used for any other purposes as mentioned in the privacy statement and we assure you that this data will not be passed on to third parties.

Please note that we will update this privacy statement from time to time (e.g. due to law amendments, usage of new technology, new study opportunities). We recommend that you regularly check it for updates.

In general, you have right of access, the right to rectification, to erasure, to restrict, to data portability, to withdraw and to object.

If you do, please contact us — we will be happy to help.

As access to the Unipark software is provided by FH CAMPUS 02, it acts as the central point of contact for data protection matters , with both universities remaining jointly responsible for data processing.
