Dublin Experience

We invite all CAMPUS 02 UAS students to participate in the Dublin Experience, with a maximum of 24 places available. This mobility programme is supported by a special scholarship (detailed information can be found in the scholarship guidelines). After completing an intensive Business English course including an interesting supporting programme, participants will receive a diploma upon successful completion of the course.

The date for the next ‘Dublin experience’ language trip will be announced shortly.

The Dublin Experience takes place during the lecture-free period, so that both part-time and full-time students can take part. Where? At a renowned language school that offers varied language tuition and a lively and multicultural atmosphere, giving students the opportunity to meet people from different countries.

Programme

CAMPUS 02 UAS offers intensive Business English courses with a maximum of 12 participants per group. The courses are individually developed for each course and taught by experienced native speakers. Participants can expect an interesting social programme, including company tours, e.g. at Google, LinkedIn and Dundrum Shopping Centre, guided (day) trips, sightseeing and a cultural programme (e.g. theatre/musical visits, museum visits, ...).

Accommodation
Accommodation is available in a hotel or with host families. In the hotel, students can choose to stay in single, double or triple rooms (bed and breakfast). Host families offer catering in the form of breakfast and dinner and can accommodate up to two students.

As part of the Dublin Experience, participants complete an intensive language course lasting at least 12 hours. The course programme is developed individually for each course and is primarily aimed at improving students' business English vocabulary and presentation skills.

The course takes place from Wednesday to Friday in the mornings and/or afternoons, with the afternoon programme including guided excursions (e.g. Trinity College, Guinness, Jameson).

At the end of the course, participants take a written exam and give an oral presentation. The language school certificate can be partially recognised in some fields of study in combination with a substitute course.

In addition to the language course, other leisure activities are offered on a voluntary basis, such as Georgian Walking Tour, Literary Pub Crawl or day trips to the coast or inland (Cliffs of Moher, etc.).

Participation & financial matters

The first 24 students who register after the invitation has been sent out by the Offices can take part in the Dublin Experience. The students' co-payment amounts to approx. 900€. The actual costs depend on the duration of the Dublin Experience, the number of participants and the leisure activities chosen. This mobility programme is supported by a separate scholarship (please refer to the invitation to the Dublin Experience for detailed information).

FAQs

What do I do if I have registered for the trip but am unable to travel?

By submitting the registration form, you commit to participating in the Dublin Experience. We always offer students the option of taking out travel insurance to cover costs in the event of illness. If you are unable to attend for professional reasons, for example, you must cover all costs already incurred at the time of cancellation. Ideally, another student will take your place - then you only have to pay the rebooking costs incurred.

If you have not yet exhausted the scholarships for mobility that CAMPUS 02 UAS grants to its students (see Scholarship Guidelines), the funding from CAMPUS 02 UAS for the Dublin Experience in the amount of €300 will be automatically and unbureaucratically deducted from the final invoice. You do not need to submit an application.

This depends on your degree programme. Some degree programmes grant credit - you will find detailed information on this in the invitation to the Dublin Experience sent out by the office of your degree programme.
