Research & Development

The field of study of innovation management focuses on current developments in innovation research and continually gears its research topics towards the three central lines of attack:

  • Development of innovation theories: these theories endeavour to explain important cause-effect relationships and in this way contribute to a better understanding of the shaping of innovation processes.
  • (Further) development and spread of systematic innovation approaches: this research area strives to develop methods and instruments that can provide support during the practical realisation of innovation activities. TRIZ and Systematic Innovation are particularly up-to-date examples of this type of systematic approach.
  • Empirical success factor research: another key research field is the search for success factors in the area of innovation management by analysing empirical data with the aim of gaining generally valid knowledge for innovation success.
